Welcome to LeRouge Chocolates. I began my journey to becoming a chocolatier in the convivial kitchen of my mother, watching her add a pinch of this and a dash of that to countless dishes, always striving for beautiful combinations of flavors. My family’s palate history is one of golden saffron, sublime coriander, pungent and colorful peppercorns, luscious fruits, romantic florals, nuts, and teas. There is a multitude of unrivaled flavors in my home country of India.

This creative beginning was ingrained early in my life and I have happily carried it with me through the years and stages of my life; while working for large corporations, raising my beautiful children (and two dogs) and traveling extensively around the world. It has been my distinct pleasure to call many cities home throughout the decades, from the United States to London and beyond. Each stop along the way imbued its beauty through the sights, scents, colors and, of course, the flavors. Ah, Flavors from Paris to Punjab…

Those stepping stones led me to establish LeRouge Chocolates, which holds my love, my creativity, and my passion. LeRouge Chocolates began simply as a way to showcase the rich diversity of Indian desserts, as I excitedly wanted to share beloved traditional treats with dear friends. While the flavors may have begun with my home of India, I soon realized that so many more tastes and creations from around the globe wanted to come to life. Today, I am proud to say that I am recognized by many as the premier  Indian chocolatier in the United States.

LeRouge has grown steadily through the years, with humble beginnings at area Farmers’ Markets, where it was easy for customers to stop and sample and for me to begin to share my culture through the wonderful world of chocolate. Years later, we are now located in our own brick-and-mortar store in the quaint, coastal town of Westport, Connecticut. We value and love our community, both local and global, and we aim to add sweetness to those lives.
